The director is in talks with the company to get funding so that we can shoot more. Things are looking good, but if you take a second to ‘like’ or comment on the videos, it might give them a little more incentive .

I had originally sought out this internship as a way to learn how to market films (I’m currently writing a feature and a web series, although those projects have been put on the back-burner due to all my other busy-ness), and I am learning more than you can imagine.

That being said, here is a little bit of a background on me:

I usually tell people that Pirates of the Caribbean inspired me to start acting. Well, that is only mostly true. In first grade, I had my heart set on becoming a genetic engineer; I was determined to cross the genes of a horse and a narwhal to create a unicorn. Eventually, I gave up that dream and decided I would take on something much more achievable. I wanted to cure AIDS. However, there was a problem. I didn’t have any money, and I knew that all the necessary testing would be quite expensive. So, I decided I needed to become rich. And what was the best way? To become an actress and to become famous.

However, I didn’t really chase after my dream of stardom until I saw (the first) Pirates of the Caribbean. After watching that film, I fell in love with the art of storytelling (all right, my crush on Johnny Depp might have had a little something to do with it…). In my home town of Portland, Oregon, I pursued theater for a couple years, but decided it wasn’t for me. I ended up taking a film class with the wonderful woman who is still my mentor, coach, and manager.

I worked in Portland for many years doing various features, shorts, web series, and commercials. To name a few: Age Sex Location, The Waiting List, The Adults in the Room, Comcast, Nike, and Vicky Vixen. I even got to work with Lee Arenberg, the pirate “Pintel” from POTC (aka the “ello poppet” pirate — see below).

Currently, I am now located in Los Angeles (as of September, 7 2009). I’ve been doing a lot of fun projects down here including music videos, short films, pilots and more. Now, I finally have a place to blog about them. Yay!
